Wind energy has become the fastest growing sector in the world among renewable energy power plants. The wind is a clean, reliable and continuous energy source that is abundant and free. Experts predict that onshore wind resources have enough capacity to produce three times more than the world's current electricity consumption. The calculations show that the world's electricity needs can be met even if 20% of the world's wind potential is used.
With the RER(Renewable Energy Resources) law, which came into effect in 2005, the electricity purchasing and price guarantees for renewable energy projects allow for the creation of a renewable energy market in Turkey. However, Turkey has acted cautiously and controlled in the field of renewable energy. Thanks to the realistic and sustainable renewable energy policies adopted since 2005, renewable energy in Turkey continues to be the focus of investors' interest.
